The Vines Estate in Swanson has transformed a former winery and vineyard into a vibrant new community of approximately 250 homes, while carefully preserving the site's rich heritage. The development includes a mix of apartments and terraced housing, connected by quality infrastructure, open spaces and future community amenities.
CKL worked alongside the client from the early planning stages to help shape the masterplan and guide the project through delivery. Our multidisciplinary team provided planning, surveying, engineering, environmental and transport expertise throughout the development. This included preparing resource consent applications, designing stormwater, civil and transport infrastructure, undertaking flood modelling, completing land transfer surveys, and supporting construction through to completion.
A key focus of the project was balancing modern development with the site's historical and cultural significance. Heritage buildings were retained and repurposed, while collaboration with Mana Whenua and careful environmental design ensured the development respected both the landscape and its history.
The result is a thoughtfully designed neighbourhood that delivers high-quality housing while celebrating the unique character of the site.
