It’s a given you have a tertiary engineering qualification, Civil 3D/12D experience, and either have, or are wanting to work towards CPEng registration.

INTERMEDIATE AND SENIOR TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERS

CKL is a progressive medium-sized multi-disciplinary consultancy offering planning, surveying, engineering, environmental and transport services from four offices in the North Island.

We have vacancy for talented and motivated Transportation Engineers to be based in our vibrant and busy offices in Auckland or Hamilton. We are open to hearing from exceptional candidates with a few years’ experience in the industry up to more senior professionals. We’re more interested in talking to the right candidate and finding a perfect fit for the team than focussing on candidates with any given number of years’ experience.

You will ideally have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, including papers in transportation engineering or transportation planning. You will have a track record of working within the Transportation Engineering profession and a willingness to apply your experience to new and challenging projects. The skills we are most interested in are:

  • the ability to undertake Integrated Transportation Assessment and Road Safety Audits,
  • prepare concept level designs of car parks, minor road improvements and walking and cycling facilities,
  • undertake parking assessments and studies, prepare transport masterplans and access strategies for major developments.
You will need to be a team-player, achievement-oriented and have excellent communication skills.

With ongoing high workflows, we are looking for a Senior or Principal Environmental Engineer with leadership capabilities.

The Opportunity:
The role could be based in either our Auckland or Hamilton Environmental Engineering teams and reports to the Environmental team director and manager. As a technical expert this is your opportunity for you to be personally invested in projects and provide leadership and guidance to the broader team to achieve superior results for our clients on a variety of interesting land development projects of varying sizes and complexities across the residential and commercial sector as well as New Zealand. About You:
It’s a given that you are tertiary qualified with at least 8-10 years' experience in professional engineering. Your ability to work in or lead diverse and multi-disciplinary teams through effective communication is underpinned by your strong technical and design background (including experience in flood and flow modelling software such as MIKE, HEC Ra, HEC HMS, TuFLow 12D) as well as knowledge and experience in stormwater management, catchment management planning, urban interface collaboration, hydraulic design and environmental engineering

You are willing to step up as a leader in your field and share your knowledge and experience with your team, engaging in the fantastic culture we are growing at CKL.

You may already be CPEng, International equivalent or working towards chartership. With a solid background in the land development arena, civil and environmental engineering, you now have an eye on the next step in your career to move into a Senior or Principal Engineer role, or you are perhaps simply looking for a new opportunity and challenge.
