CKL was responsible for the delivery of an Integrated Transportation Assessment considering the effects of a major commercial development in the heart of the Hamilton CBD. The development comprises some 20,000sqm office space and an associated 300 space car park.

Hamilton’s CBD is rapidly changing to become a vibrant and diverse place to work, shop and live. CKL is proud to work with a team of local developers, architects and consultants to bring Union Square to fruition; a Foster Group development that will revitalise the southern CDB and attract more employees to this area. The first of six buildings is currently under construction on the corner of Anglesea St and Hood St. When complete, the development will incorporate premium office space, retail, residential apartments, and car parking. For all developments, we are always looking at how people use the built environment and relate to the spaces around them. Design and function is important for pedestrians, cyclists, people on public transport, and service vehicles. CKL provided an Integrated Transportation Assessments to ensure multi-modal access to the site. We also undertook topographical surveying and provided a Water Impact Assessment considering water demands for the site and how best to manage run-off in a sustainable way.
