We’re delighted to welcome Jan Franta to our Auckland office as Principal Transportation Engineer.

A Chartered Professional Engineer with nearly 20 years’ experience across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and, most recently, Aotearoa New Zealand, Jan brings a deep background in transport planning, traffic engineering, and civil engineering.

Jan is known for his holistic approach to projects, from early strategy and concept development through to consenting, detailed design, and delivery. He has a strong track record of aligning transport, design, and land development inputs to keep complex, multi-agency projects moving in the right direction.

His experience spans major public and private projects, including:

  • Kāinga Ora’s Tāmaki Precinct Regeneration
  • Large-scale greenfield developments
  • Auckland Transport’s TEPS programme
  • Significant arterial upgrades
Outside of work, Jan is an avid paraglider, traveller, and DIY enthusiast. He also volunteers as a Big Buddy mentor, supporting a young person to build confidence and resilience, something we really admire.
